What do I need to rent a Vespa?
- Previous experience driving a scooter/motorbike is a must! As professionals we would like you to avoid unnecessary risk and put yourself in danger while on vacation.
- Valid passport or identity card
- Credit card to pay the security deposit
- Valid driving license in Spain.
What does it mean Valid Driving License
According to the Spanish law the following driving licenses are valid to drive:
- Vespa 125cc. European Driving License: A, A1, A2, B or International Driving Permit
- Vespa 300cc. European Driving License: A, A2 or International Driving Permit
- If your license is from outside the European Union, you must accompany it with the International Driving Permit (IDP)
Please note, client is responsible for having the appropriate license and driving experience for the reservation he/she is making, otherwise no refund will be issued for the reservation.
Will I get my money back in case of a cancellation?
Yes, cancellations are possible up to 48 hours prior to the agreed date. You will be refunded the amount of the booking less 10% for administrative expenses. For any cancellation made in the 48 hours before the agreed date or without notice, there will be no refund.
Do I need to pay a deposit?
Yes, when you arrive at Vespa Lovers, you will be asked to leave a security deposit of 900€ or for additional 10€ per day you can reduce it to 600€ on your credit card. The full amount of this deposit will be refunded once you return the scooter and the accessories in the same original conditions.
What is the minimum age to drive a scooter?
The minimum age to drive a Vespa is 21 years old or 3 years of driving experience,
Please note, minimum age for children to be passenger is 7 years old.
What is included in the rental?
Original brand new Vespa, basic insurance, 24-hour roadside assistance, unlimited mileage, 2 helmets, integrated top case.
What would happen if I return the vehicle before my contract ends?
You can do so without any problem, but no refund will be made.
What does the insurance cover?
The rental price includes liability insurance covering damage to third parties and passengers without existing excess or maximum responsibility (Basic Insurance).
For other risks (theft, loss, damage to Vespa) there is an excess or maximum responsibility to be paid by the Customer of €900.
There’s an option to purchase optional Vespa Lovers’ insurance and just for €10 (per rental) you can reduce the excess or maximum responsibility to be paid in case of any damage to €600 which is the amount of your deposit.
How can I pay?
You can pay with credit or with debit card, via Paypal or by cash in our office.
What happens if I receive a fine or traffic penalty?
The penalties must be assumed by the lessee, and we will charge the amount to the credit card provided plus a charge of 30 euros for fines management.
Do I need to refill the Vespa?
Yes, Full/Full policy is applied. You will need to present the ticket from fuel station upon Vespa return.
Where can I park the Vespa?
We advise you to park in the areas designated for the parking of motorcycles marked with ‘MOTORCYCLE PARKING’. It is also possible to park in car parks with white lines as well as areas for cars with blue lines, free for motorcycles.
Can two people use one scooter?
Yes, any type of vespa we have a maximum capacity of two people.
Where can I drive?
The 125cc and 300cc models can be driven on motorways, dual carriageways and conventional roads only in Mallorca.
Where can I collect the Vespa?
You can collect your Vespa at our Vespa Lovers office located in Port d’Acludia, Carrer de la Hostaleria 6 (we are in front of the Casa Gallega restaurant).
What happens in case of accident or theft?
You must contact the authority immediately and contact Vespa Lovers company as soon as possible. In each vehicle you will find a list of emergency telephone numbers and instructions to be followed.
